  • Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, presents the new motorcycles for 2015 in Milan: two completely new bikes, the 1299 Panigale and new Multistrada 1200, ready to compete for the “best bike” title at EICMA 2014
  • The Ducati 2015 World Première also shone the spotlight on the four versions of the Scrambler, the stars of an outside event at the WP Store showroom in Milan where the new Scrambler apparel and accessory collection were presented
  • There was also a preview of the Diavel Titanium, a new version of the Ducati sport cruiser featuring exclusive materials and components, produced in a limited, numbered edition of just 500 bikes

Milan, 3 November 2014 – A live streaming feed provided the perfect platform for the Ducati 2015 World Première event, a presentation of the latest bikes in the 2015 range held in Milan on the eve of EICMA 2014. New products, innovative technology and ambitious plans for the future have made Ducati more upbeat and confident than ever. The new range features true ‘dream bikes’, the offspring of Ducati’s renowned engineering brilliance and creativity, ready to thrill the fans who’ll be flocking to the 72nd edition of the EICMA World Motorcycle Fair at the International Milan Trade Fair in Rho, open to the public from 6 to 9 November.

The press conference provided Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, with a perfect opportunity to take stock of both the market and Ducati, and unveil the soon-to-be-released bike range. Despite the difficulties of the complicated, challenging international scenario, 2014 saw Ducati – a part of the Audi Group since 2012 – continue the positive growth trend of the last few years.
The new 2015 bikes clearly demonstrate the application of excellence across the entire Ducati range, an excellence characterised by unique, inimitable Italian style and design that is sure to win acclaim on emerging markets too.

“For Ducati, 2015 is a milestone”, stated Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding during the presentation press conference, “as Ducati enthusiasts will be able to choose from a range more technologically advanced and innovatively designed than ever. A sports bike, the 1299 Panigale, that promises to set a whole new on-track standard thanks to raw power and sophisticated electronics, and a new all-round Multistrada 1200 that combines sports handling and performance with smoothness and low fuel consumption at a whole new level. With ‘The Land of Joy’, the Scrambler brand will be providing dealerships with a breath of fresh air and high spirits, offering a bike with a never-before-seen mix of motorcycling modernity and heritage”.

Following the launch of the Ducati Scrambler last month at Intermot, this new Ducati brand and its four innovative, high-appeal versions provided the perfect curtain-raiser at the Elfo Puccini Theatre in Milan, the venue for the Ducati 2015 World Première of the new 2015 models. Afterwards it was the turn of two completely new bikes soon to be presented at EICMA 2014, the 1299 Panigale and new Multistrada 1200, plus three other new versions (Panigale R, Diavel Titanium and Monster Stripes) and an array of new accessory and apparel products.

The 2015 Ducati Superbike family presents a major new player in the category: the 1299 Panigale. The latest arrival at the Bologna-based firm, with its 1285 cm3 Superquadro engine, raises the standards once again in terms of performance for supersports bikes on the international market. Thanks to an incredible torque of 144.6 Nm at 8,750 rpm, a dry weight of 166.5 kg, a maximum power of 205 hp at 10,500 rpm and a record-breaking power-to-weight ratio that puts its ahead of all competing road bikes, the 1299 Panigale is now the new benchmark for ultra-high performance bikes.

The new electronic package, specifically designed for the 1299 Panigale and incorporated in the three different Riding Modes, boosts performance even higher. Thanks to the presence of the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), riders can count on Cornering ABS, along with Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and, on the S version, the Öhlins Smart EC, an event-based suspension control system. Moreover, the 1299 Panigale features, for the first time on a road-legal Ducati Superbike, the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), now usable for down-changing too: this sharpens track performance even further while making the bike easier to use on a daily basis. On the 1299 Panigale, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC) are all optimised thanks to an automatic tyre size and final drive ratio calibration system.

It’s also a World Première for the new generation of Multistrada 1200 bikes, featuring the latest Ducati Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) engine. In what is a first for the motorcycle industry, the DVT engine features a variable valve timing system with independent control of both the intake and exhaust camshafts. This optimises engine performance throughout the power range in all riding conditions, ensuring maximum power at high revs, smooth power delivery, punchy low-rpm torque and low fuel consumption in full compliance with the latest Euro 4 regulations.
Completely new, the Multistrada 1200 is technologically cutting-edge thanks also to the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which dynamically measures roll, yaw and pitch angles as well as their rates of change, thus ensuring performance and safety standards that are unprecedented on a motorcycle. The presence of the IMU leads to substantial improvements in the operation of the ABS system, making it a ‘Cornering’ system capable of controlling braking even on bends where wheel lock could otherwise cause skidding with the bike leaned-over. The IMU platform also enables control of the Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) housed in the Multistrada 1200’s full LED headlamp, a system in which an additional LED illuminates the inside of the bend to enhance night-time visibility. Moreover, the IMU allows the introduction of Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC): this detects and corrects any front wheel lift to ensure maximum acceleration and grip in complete safety.
All models now feature Electronic Cruise Control, which the rider can set as desired using controls incorporated in the switchgear on the left handlebar. On the S version a Bluetooth module is included as standard: via the Ducati Multimedia System, this allows the bike to be connected to a smartphone for easy multimedia control of key functions (e.g. receiving incoming calls, notification of text messages, or playing music) via the handlebar controls and colour TFT dashboard. Thanks to an iOS/Android app, the Bluetooth connection lets riders use bike data to activate other functions which enhance, extend or let them share their everyday riding or touring experiences via interaction with the ducati.com website and social networks.

For 2015, Ducati also wanted to take the exclusiveness concept that forms the backbone of the Diavel project and raise it to a whole new level. Titanium, carbon, craftsmanship, finishing touches of outstanding quality, a near-manic attention to detail, dedicated design, a limited edition of just 500 bikes: these are the core features of the latest addition to the Diavel family, the Diavel Titanium.

The Ducati 2015 World Première also saw an appearance by the two official MotoGP 2015 flag bearers, Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone, just ahead of their last race of the MotoGP 2014 season in Valencia on Sunday 9 November. After achieving pole position in Japan, taking numerous podium places and significantly cutting end-of-race gaps, the 2014 season can be seen as a highly positive one that augers well for 2015. In the coming year the team, headed by Luigi Dall’Igna, will be competing in MotoGP – a championship that remains central to Ducati’s strategy – with an all-new bike that is the result of this season’s incessant work and investment.

In addition to the new bikes presented by Ducati, 2015 also promises a host of new accessories, special parts and a new apparel collection, which includes both high-grade technical clothing items and the eye-catching apparel and accessory collection dedicated to the Scrambler world; the latter was presented at the W.P. Store showroom in Milan with a special event that saw press, public and enthusiasts flock to the highly original, fun-packed Scrambler Ducati “Land of Joy”.

  • Ducati Scrambler among the top attractions at the Volkswagen Group Night on 1 October and the Paris International Auto Show

Bologna, 2 October 2014 – The world of Ducati Scrambler has already generated significant interest among fans. On Tuesday 30 September, the day the new Ducati brand was officially presented to the public at Intermot, fans took the scramblerducati.com website by storm to such an extent that they literally sent it haywire. The site went offline for a few minutes before becoming visible once again to the numerous visitors who connected from all over the world to see the four versions of the Ducati Scrambler unveiled for the first time ever at the Cologne motorshow.

The Icon, Full Throttle, Urban Enduro and Classic Ducati Scramblers captured the attention of the large audience attending Intermot press conference, as well as the fans online. The four versions of the Ducati Scrambler have been developed from the concept of maximum personal expression and complete customisation and within a few hours of the motorcycle’s unveiling, numerous interpretations of the Ducati Scrambler had already appeared on the internet.

The Ducati Scrambler has even seduced The Dandy Warhols. The popular rock band from Portland were able to admire the Ducati Scrambler in a special preview and were keen to play an active role in the Ducati Scrambler project with the song “I am free”, which is the soundtrack of the Ducati Scrambler launch video shown in a world preview at Intermot in Cologne. • Ducati presents the Ducati Scrambler brand in Cologne and its iconic style, modern design and creative spirit
  • Ducati, a solid, steadily growing company, looks to the future with confidence
  • Ducati celebrates a historic win in the German Superbike Championship (IDM)

Cologne (Germany), 30 September 2014 – At the end of the first day of Intermot 2014 – the International Motorcycle Fair being held in Cologne (Germany) from 30 September to 6 October –Ducati finally unveiled one of the most eagerly awaited new bikes to go on show there; the Ducati Scrambler brand immediately became the focus of media and public attention, and the undisputed star of this key German fair.

Re-proposing the yellow containers that characterised the original, highly creative launch phase, Ducati set up a Ducati Scrambler brand-dedicated space in the exhibition area of its Intermot 2014 stand. This symbolic opening-up of a “new world” at the end of the press-dedicated day involved both public and media in an original presentation that was fully in keeping with the language and style of this exciting new concept.

“This year Intermot is especially meaningful for Ducati”, stated Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, during the press conference. “Ducati continues to grow steadily as it has done for several years now. The last 12 months confirm this positive trend with a growth over 5% compared to the previous ones, a new sales record. I’m also particularly proud to be celebrating, here at Intermot, Ducati’s historic win in the German Superbike Championship where the performance of the 1199 Panigale R has allowed us to take both the Constructors and Riders title – thanks to the prowess of Xavi Fores and Max Neukirchner.”

“Presenting the new Ducati Scrambler brand means for us opening the doors to an entirely new, fascinating, and absolutely contemporary world”, said Cristiano Silei, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Ducati Motor Holding, during the unveiling of the new bikes. “We have reinterpreted an iconic motorcycle, part of our history for more than 50 years, in a fully modern way, designing and building the Ducati Scrambler as if we’d never stopped making it. The four bikes of the Ducati Scrambler family represent starting points on a path to personalisation that will make every single Ducati Scrambler a unique, free-spirited bike as individual as the person riding it.”

The waiting is finally over. The Ducati Scrambler is finally out of the yellow container that has so jealously guarded it over the last few months and is now – after the previews granted to employees and Ducatisti at World Ducati Week 2014 – officially ready. This is more than just a new bike: it’s a whole new world, one that expresses itself via a range of options and versions that provide a starting point for satisfying the different needs and wants of individual motorcyclists.

The Ducati Scrambler is a contemporary bike that expresses the pure essence of motorcycling. Tried and tested materials such as the aluminium of the rear swingarm and engine covers and the steel of the teardrop tank and frame are combined with new-generation components such as front and rear LED lighting and LCD instruments.
Wide handlebars and a long seat provide a comfortable, relaxed riding position and, together with the low weight, low centre of gravity and slightly knobby tyres, ensure pure riding fun whatever the situation.

“Post-heritage” design gives a contemporary take on the iconic bike built by Ducati back in the 60s and 70s. This Ducati Scrambler, though, is no retro bike: it is, rather, intended to be just how the legendary Bologna-built motorcycle would be today if Ducati had never stopped building it.

The Icon version, in yellow and red, is joined by three others – Urban Enduro, Full Throttle and Classic – each offering its own style and performance-related interpretation of the Scrambler spirit. The Urban Enduro, with its “Wild Green” paintjob, is for enduro style enthusiasts and ready to switch from city streets to country backroads in an instant. The Full Throttle is for riders enthralled by the flat-track racing world who have a penchant for pushing things to the limit. And the Classic is for devotees to details and a 1970s look who want the uncompromising riding pleasure and comfort of a modern-day bike.

The headlamp, together with the tank, forms a key part of the Ducati Scrambler look. Rounded, classically designed yet extremely modern (i.e. post-heritage) it features a glass parabola and an ultra-modern LED light guide around the rim that acts as a side light.

Seat and tank have been carefully designed to give the Ducati Scrambler appealing proportions. A compact bike, the Ducati Scrambler instils confidence from the very moment you set eyes on it. It’s been sized to make it accessible to all motorcyclists while the long seat maximises comfort and can also accommodate a passenger comfortably.

An oil and air-cooled L-twin two-valve 803 cc engine powers the Ducati Scrambler; it has an 88 mm bore, a 66 mm stroke and has been redesigned to give smooth acceleration throughout the rev range.

Moreover, thanks to a vast range of apparel and bike accessories, to be presented in November, the Ducati Scrambler offers a virtually unlimited range of exclusive personalisation and lifestyle options.

The Ducati Scrambler name has much in common with the verb to scramble – mixing up, blending, letting the imagination run free, sharing with others. The Ducati Scrambler is the two-wheeled alter ego of those who ride it, a cultural movement in and of itself. It’s free-spirited, positive and anti-conformist, open to encounters with other philosophies and styles. Ducati Scrambler isn’t just a bike, it’s a world.

  • WDW2014 equalled the 2012 attendance record, attracting 65,000 Ducatisti, despite lasting one day less.
  • This unique Ducati event at the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit ends after 3 days of shows, thrills… and thousands of motorcycles
  • The Scrambler area attracted huge crowds: for three days an uninterrupted flow of enthusiasts waited their turn to get a sneak preview of the prototype

Misano Adriatico, 21 July 2014 – The eighth edition of World Ducati Week, the international, bi-annual Ducati gathering that attracts countless enthusiasts from the global Ducati community, has been an outstanding success, able to thrill the tens of thousands of motorcyclists who filled the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July in a sign of loyalty, passion and love for Ducati and the legendary bikes built in Borgo Panigale, Bologna, Italy.

Their passion is best illustrated by the figures: some 65,000 people attended this 3-day edition, equalling the record set back in 2012 when WDW was a 4-day event. Participants arrived from five continents and 56 different countries. And that’s not all: 60% of attendees at WDW2014 might have been Italian, but it’s the other 40% who confirm Ducati’s truly global appeal. Some Ducatisti had made their way here from the USA, Europe, Australia, Russia and India. Some had travelled from as far away as Brazil, China and Malaysia. Others, amazingly, came from Gabon, Iceland and Nepal, all united by a “Desmo” passion that, in an event of this magnitude, is off the scale.

Three great days, the most intense of which was Saturday 19 July, the day that drew in the biggest crowds. In addition to the wide variety of events, the highlight of the day was the final showdown of the Diavel Drag Race by Tudor which saw Ducati Corse riders (MotoGP and SBK) battle it out on the starting straight of the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit on powerful Ducati Diavel Carbon bikes. Victory was claimed by Regis Laconi (former official Ducati SBK rider), with Matteo Baiocco (current Ducati SBK test rider) the runner-up. Third place went to Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team), fourth to Michele Pirro (test rider for Ducati Team in MotoGP). It was an exhilarating competition, placing pros of the highest calibre, past and present, head to head: Troy Bayliss, Carlos Checa, Andrea Iannone, Yonny Hernandez, Davide Giugliano and Chaz Davies together with “King” Carl Fogarty and Pierfrancesco Chili.

Immediately after the race, in front of a crowd estimated to be over 10,000 strong, all the riders, plus key management – led by Ducati Motor Holding CEO, Claudio Domenicali, and Audi CEO, Rupert Stadler – saluted the public in an impressive ride-past. Afterwards, this last amazing night on the circuit was brought to a close by a thrilling light and sound show.

The final day of this eighth WDW saw thousands of Ducatisti and their bikes once again flood into the paddock of the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit, all eager to enjoy their last day before heading home in the comforting knowledge that they’ll all be back together again in two years’ time for WDW2016.

As expected, the Scrambler area was a huge success, arousing considerable interest. This gave enthusiasts attending WDW2014 an exclusive opportunity to enjoy a world premiere of the long-awaited Scrambler Ducati. This latest Ducati motorcycle, expected to arrive in stores early in 2015, attracted an uninterrupted procession of onlookers, with some Ducatisti waiting hours under the scorching sun to enter the famous “yellow container” and get a sneak preview (with a strictly no-photos, no-filming protocol) of the prototype.

Yet WDW2014 was much, much more. In addition to numerous events, the paddock area of the “Marco Simoncelli” World Misano Circuit also hosted the Superbike Celebration, a display of the bikes that have made Ducati history in the World Superbike Championship. There were stuntman shows, riding courses, a chance to road test the new Monster 821, autograph sessions with Ducati Corse champions (past and present) plus on-track tests with the fantastic Audi R8 V10 and the new Lamborghini Huracán, not to mention a lot of partying for everyone.

Yet the eighth edition of World Ducati Week was essentially a peaceful, vibrantly coloured “invasion” of both the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit and the entire Romagnola Riviera, with the desmodromic roar of countless Ducati motorcycles providing the soundtrack to an exceptional international event.

These are the “figures” for which this excellent eighth edition of WDW will be remembered:

  • 65,000 people attended the circuit over three days
  • A total of 10,192 laps were made by bikes and cars during WDW2014
  • 72,000 photos were taken by staff photographers
  • WDW2014 attracted enthusiasts from 56 countries
  •  A 200-metre-long BBQ – the famous “Rustida” – was set up in the Misano World Circuit pit lane
  • 60 lifeguards from the Romagnola Riviera and 25 Ducati Managers cooked the piadina and sausages consumed by the WDW2014 public at the “Rustida”
  • 58 different on-track events and shows took place over the three days
  • 18’20” was the time taken by the procession of Ducati bikes to exit the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit and form the “parade” heading for Riccione
  • 600 participants answered 13,000 quiz questions (with a Ducati theme, naturally) in the 3-day “WDW2014 Treasure Hunt”
  • 7,000 digital contributions were posted on wdwlive.ducati.com during WDW2014
  • The competitors in the Drag Race by Tudor possessed no less than 11 world championship titles (4 WSBK, 2 Superstock, 2 Supersport, 2 World 125 Championships, 1 World 250 Championship) + 4 Italian titles (2 Superstock and 2 Superbike)
  • 50 Monster 821 bikes were ridden by 50 employees during the Racetrack Show
  • Over 700 test rides of the new Monster 821 were completed during WDW2014
  • 118 D.O.C. Presidents from 26 countries attended WDW2014
  • 38 hours of live coverage was provided on WDW TV
  • There were 360 minutes of live streaming on the Ducati YouTube channel
  • The tread was taken off 16 Pirelli “Diablo Rosso II” tyres in the burn-out at the end of the Diavel Drag Race by Tudor
  • In 35 hours in the Scrambler area:
  • 4,000 people saw the new Scrambler Ducati
  • 3,500 games of ping-pong and billiards were played
  • 20,000 Scrambler bracelets and 6,000 badges were given away
  • 3,000 false moustaches and 3,000 flower necklaces were distributed at the “Scrambler beach party”
  • 803 limited-edition T-Shirts were sold
  • 20 hours of live music were played by “Recrive”
  • 240 journalists (130 Italian and 110 foreign) were present

WDW2014 enjoyed outstanding support from its Main Partners, TUDOR, Termignoni and TIM, plus many other Official Partners, including top brands such as Pirelli, Bosch, Shell and Canon. There was also a long list of Technical Partners: Arai, Brembo, Cartorama, Dainese, Element Case, Garmin, Gates, Givi and Samauto.

Once again, WDW was able to count on the constructive help of the Town Councils of Misano, Cattolica Riccione and the administration of the Republic of San Marino, who organised essential local logistics and events for Ducatisti arriving from all over the planet. Last but certainly not least, a key role was played by the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit, which has hosted every edition of WDW since the very first.

• Sportier colour scheme – inspired by Ducati Corse – for the Hypermotard SP
• New look unveiled for the very first time by Troy Bayliss and Carlos Checa in front of a packed audience at WDW2014
• The bike has 110 hp, three dedicated Riding Modes and 8-level Ducati Traction Control derived from the 1199 Panigale

Misano Adriatico (Rimini), 19 July 2014 – Ducati wanted to give all the Ducatisti and enthusiasts attending WDW2014 a special treat with a world-first preview of the new colour scheme for the Hypermotard SP. The SP version, the most extreme in the Hypermotard family, features all the technical characteristics one expects from a Hypermotard and improves on them further to satisfy even the most expert, demanding riders who have a preference for peak performance riding. Moreover, the new racy red-white colour scheme gives the Hypermotard SP a harder-hitting look.

Being a thoroughbred sport bike, the Hypermotard SP just had to be unveiled by two exceptional endorsers: three-times world SBK champion Troy Bayliss, who won the 2001, 2006 and 2008 championships on three different Ducati Superbike models, and the 2011 World Superbike Champion Carlos Checa. Today, at the International Village in the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit paddocks, they revealed this superb bike in front of a packed WDW audience.

The Hypermotard SP, like all the bikes in the family, features the latest-generation 110 hp Ducati Testastretta 11° 821 cc engine and a trellis frame. The SP model, in pure racing style, features dedicated Riding Modes (Race 110 hp – “HIGH”, Sport 110 hp – “MEDIUM” and Wet 75 hp – “LOW”) taken from the 1199 Panigale and is equipped with increased-travel suspension that gives it a truly supermotard set-up, allowing for thrilling lean angles of up to 47.5°. All safely too, because the Hypermotard SP comes as standard with the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) featuring 3-level ABS and 8-level Ducati Traction Control derived from the 1199 Panigale.

The Hypermotard SP has a pressurized Marzocchi upside-down 50 mm front fork; fully adjustable, this has a travel of 185 mm and ensures outstanding performance plus great handling. The suspension system also mounts a fully adjustable Öhlins monoshock, with built-in “gas” tank, giving a rear wheel travel of 175 mm.

The Hypermotard SP is also equipped with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyre, 120/70 x 17 at the front and a 180/55 x 17 at the rear. It also sports Marchesini 3-spoke forged aluminium wheels, the design of which has also been taken from the 1199 Panigale S, highlighting the decidedly high-performance nature of the SP model even further.

The SP version is completed by other exclusive components: the variable-section handlebars, the carbon fibre front mudguard and engine covers, the front radial pump with adjustable 5-position lever and the seat.

These extraordinary technical specifications help ensure a dry weight of just 171 kg, while the racing-like chassis set-up of the Hypermotard SP is highlighted by the seat height of 890 mm: nevertheless, a 20 mm lower seat is available on request as a Ducati accessory.

The essential Monster

Following the successful unveiling of the new generation Monster 1200 at the Milan International Motorcycle
show in November, Ducati now introduces the Monster 821, a mid-size version of the exciting new model
and the latest entry to the world of Monster.

More than two decades on from the Monster’s first unveiling, Ducati presents the iconic model’s latest
generation middleweight, the 2015 Monster 821. Maintaining the stylish character made famous by the
original concept, the essential model sports the same new chassis and muscular styling as the Monster
1200 and is designed with premium components fully integrated with Ducati’s latest technologies.

Powered by the latest edition of Ducati’s highly successful 821 Testastretta 11° engine, the highly
accessible new Monster combines 112hp and 65.9ft-lb of torque with an impressively lightweight *179.5kg
(395.7lb) overall package. This stylish mix of minimalism and performance paves the way back to the
original essence of the Monster concept, where less-is-more and made-in-Italy combine to create a
motorcycle lifestyle.

High-spec brakes, excellent suspension and stylish componentry merge with Ducati’s best-yet ergonomics
to offer the Italian manufacturer’s most attractive mid-range Monster ever. Super comfortable and with an
innovative adjustable seat height, the model also combines 8-level traction control, 3-level ABS and 3-level

From 18-20 July, 2014, tens of thousands of Ducati fans from all over the world will celebrate their shared passion for the Bologna-built motorcycles, with the 8th edition of the now legendary World Ducati Week event.

While the last edition of World Ducati Week attracted over 65,000 visitors from more than 50 countries, the iconic brand’s constant international growth could well make this Ducati festival of motorcycles, with its passionate community of owners and incredible atmosphere, another record-breaking year.

The spectacular Misano Adriatico Circuit continues to be Ducati’s tradition seaside venue for the long weekend party and, being situated on the Romagnola Riviera, will once again offer the ideal nightlife for Ducati’s legions of visiting enthusiasts. As Ducati’s preparation for the event now shifts into top gear, more information will become available in the coming months on the dedicated website wdw.ducati.com.

Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 02 December 2013 – Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, made a special visit to the Ducati stand on Saturday, 30 November, as part of his official trip to the Motorcycle Live event at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England.

Tim Maccabee, Managing Director, Ducati UK Ltd hosted the Royal guest, introducing him to the features of the brand new Ducati Monster 1200, in addition to the Ducati Diavel, which the Duke climbed aboard when prompted by a member of the public who shouted: “Go on, get on it!”

With a smile, Prince William duly pleased the crowd by trying the Diavel for size, before meeting former Ducati British Superbike Champion, Shane Byrne, with whom he shared some comments on the enjoyment of riding Ducati Motorcycles.

The Duke also took the opportunity of his visit to have a closer look at the new Ducati 1199 Superleggera, which was making its UK debut at the packed show. The limited edition model of only 500 represents the most exclusive and desirable Ducati in the range and with components in magnesium, carbon fibre, and titanium, the model boasts the highest power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle in history.

“It was a real pleasure and an honour to host HRH Prince William on our stand,” commented Tim Maccabee. “He was pleased to take a look around and certainly seemed to enjoy sitting on the different models. He commented on how light the Diavel was, but I think he favoured the 1199 Superleggera.”

The visit was completed with a look at the new Ducati 899 Panigale and an overview of the Ducati TriOptions Cup series in which the model will compete, announced for 2014 as a support race within the British Superbike Championship.

. Multiple championship winner and head of prestigious Ducati Riding Experience, Dario Marchetti to race in penultimate round of 2012-2013 series.

. One-off entry set to prove 1199 Panigale R is most competitive      superbike on the market

The penultimate round of this season’s UAE Sportbike Series (29 March) will feature a very special participant, as one of the world’s leading Ducati riders, Dario Marchetti flies in to make his racing debut in the Emirates. Marchetti, a multiple championship winner around the globe, will take his place on the grid at the Dubai Autodrome in the 1000cc class, riding a 1199 Panigale R.

Dario’s entry, on behalf of Ducati UAE, will see him battle it out with current 1000cc championship leader, Saudi rider Abdulaziz Bin Laden. Bin Laden has enjoyed an impressive winning streak during the championship, emerging victorious in the past four races. The weekend’s racing will now pit Marchetti and his 1199 Panigale R against Bin Laden on his Honda Fireblade – a true battle of two of the world’s greatest superbikes.

Marchetti is Chief Instructor for the Ducati Riding Experience (DRE), recently running two sessions at Yas Marina Circuit, the first time the prestigious programme was held outside Ducati’s base in Italy. The Italian has enjoyed a diverse racing career, ranging from 500 GP to Superbike races. His list of honours includes four national titles, the Italian Endurance Championship in 2001 on a Ducati 996R, the Battle of the Twins race at Daytona aboard a 748 in 2004 and the European Endurance Championship later that year riding a 998 and 999R.

Marchetti commented “Coming to the UAE is always a privilege, so it’s especially exciting to be coming to race on one of the Middle East’s great circuits. Learning the track at such short notice and adjusting to it will be a big challenge, but it’s a challenge that I’m looking forward to taking on, and I couldn’t have a better bike than the 1199 Panigale R to do it on.”

Paul Velasco, Communications Manager at the Dubai Autodrome, said “Having a rider of the quality of Dario Marchetti participate in the series demonstrates that there is increasing recognition of the importance of motorcycle racing in the UAE. It will also make for a fascinating battle for all spectators, in particular as Abdulaziz Bin Laden has been in such great form over the season.”

The 195hp 1199 Panigale R is the absolute flagship of the Ducati range. Special enhancement to the Panigale R by Ducati Corse, the Italian manufacturer’s motorcycle racing wing, make it the ideal machine for World Superbike homologation. By racing in the UAE Sportbike Series, Marchetti is aiming to demonstrate that Ducati’s flagship model is the best superbike on the market today.

Like all the 2013 1199 models, the 1199 Panigale R is equipped with the latest generation engine mapping and Ride-by-Wire calibration, further enhancing the Ducati Superbike ride experience. As well as being the lightest motorcycle in its category, the flagship R model also introduces a race-oriented, 4-point adjustable swingarm pivot, titanium con-rods and a 500rpm higher rev limit (12,000rpm) in addition to a Race Kit of performance components, including a full Termignoni race exhaust system.

Ducati UAE’s decision to enter Marchetti and the 1199 Panigale R in the race recognises the importance of the UAE to the brand. Just last year one the world’s biggest Ducati dealerships was opened in Abu Dhabi, following on from the launch of the new Dubai dealership in 2010. The 1199 Panigale also enjoyed its global launch at the Yas Marina Circuit earlier in 2012.

Founded in 1962, Ducati motorcycles are the purest expression of refined engineering, unmistakable design and, above all, passion for bikes. Over the years the Ducati brand has been extremely successful in international racing, winning one MotoGP title, 14 World Superbike titles, eight British Superbike titles and two AMA titles.

  • 2012 sees the Ducati 1199 Panigale set new industry benchmarks in technology and style
  • Over 30 international media awards presented to the best twin-cylinder sports motorcycle ever
  • More than 7,500 Ducati 1199 Panigale motorcycles sold in 2012

Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy) 11 December, 2012 – For motorcycle enthusiasts, 2012 will undoubtedly go down in history as “the year of the Panigale”, the Italian manufacturer’s high-tech model generating massive interest since its first public appearance and opening a new chapter in the company’s long and successful history.

Ducati collected the “Best Bike of the Show” award for the Superbike 1199 Panigale as soon as the motorcycle was unveiled at the 2011 EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan. The incredible model, which set new benchmarks in the motorcycle industry, has since gone on to collect over 30 major international acknowledgements and awards from highly respected motorcycle publications and major lifestyle titles.

Despite a motorcycle market in downward trend, the 1199 Panigale has performed as well in the showroom as it has on the road and track, with a total of over 7,500 motorcycles sold during 2012. The sales performance further acknowledges the energy and resources that Ducati has poured into the constant research and development of new product, an approach that has subsequently enabled the company to achieve record commercial and financial results in 2012. The difficult market and depressed world economy has done little to slow Ducati as it continues to expand and improve in terms of market share and output and sales volumes, confirming the security of the company and providing an improved structure and organisation ready to face the coming years with more confidence than ever before.

Bred for the track and trained for the road, the 1199 Panigale is a true revolution of the species destined to influence the entire sports motorcycle environment. The most high-tech, most powerful twin-cylinder production engine on the planet is now an integral part of an innovative monocoque chassis that combine to deliver an astonishing 195hp from 164kg (361.5lb) of futuristic Italian thoroughbred. The highest production motorcycle power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios in the world are fitting trophies for the incredible results that Ducati have achieved.

With the click of a button, Ducati’s Riding Mode concept delivers performance with enhanced rider confidence by combining seven class-leading technologies. The latest-generation sports ABS system, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES), Ducati Quick-Shift (DQS), Ducati’s race-derived Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ride-by-Wire (RbW) are now all programmed into seamless, electronic rider assistance. Even the full colour Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display changes to suit the rider’s environment.

With a unique styling that sets the heart racing even when the motorcycle is at standstill, the innovative and high performance Ducati is available in 1199 Panigale, 1199 Panigale S and 1199 Panigale S Tricolore versions. For 2013, the new 1199 Panigale R will extend the family of models even further, the exclusive flagship of the range representing the machine specially developed with enhanced technical specification by Ducati Corse for World Superbike competition.

  • First time leading rider training programme is held outside Europe
  • Line-up of motorcycle racing World Champions fly in to carry out training

Yas Marina Circuit this week hosted the prestigious Ducati Riding Experience (DRE), the first venue ever to have hosted the world’s top rider training programme outside of the brand’s European. Ducati customers from across the globe travelled to Abu Dhabi to push the company’s acclaimed 1199 Panigale  Superbike to the limit, all under the expert guidance of Ducati’s highly decorated instructors.

Ducati’s nine instructors boast eight world motorcycle championship titles and numerous national championships between them, and were on hand to tutor the potential racers who flew in from around the world. Participants included riders from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Italy, Russia, Kazakstan and Switzerland.

54 riders were divided into groups of three per instructor to ensure they each received an almost one-to-one tuition while on circuit. Each rider got the chance to do five on-track sessions including two Master Racing Course sessions, which allowed them to fully exploit the capabilities of the 195bhp Superquadro Super Quadra engine of the Ducati 1199 Panigale

David James, Ducati International Press Manager, DRE Instructor and triple Sidecar World Champion, said: “Bringing the Ducati Ride Experience to the UAE was an obvious next step after the successful global launch of the 1199 Panigale here in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. Yas Marina Circuit is one of the fastest, most challenging race tracks in the world and offers a superb riding experience. It’s also a track that fits the Ducati brand and mirrors the 1199 Panigale in its innovation. We’re very proud to be here and would like to think this will not be the last time.”

The Master Racing Course is one of the most advanced DRE courses and is regarded as the best rider training programme organised by a motorcycle manufacturer. Designed for riders who want to race competitively or attend extreme track day events; the Master Course offers personalised instruction to help riders reach their full potential.

Massimiliano De Feo, rider and group owner of top Italian magazines ‘InSella’, flew in from Italy specially to take part in the course: “Yas Marina is amazing! The experience of riding at night with the lights on at the track was incredible and we loved every second of it. The instructors are world class and we’ve learned so much from them in this Master Course.  I sincerely hope we get the chance to come back here again in the future as this is one of the best tracks I’ve ridden.”

The 1199 Panigale was launched at Yas Marina Circuit earlier this year and is the most exotic machine in the Ducati range. Similar to the  motorcycles used by the Ducati MotoGP and World Superbike teams the 1199 Panigale is equipped with a Ducati Quick Shift, an electronic system, which enables full throttle gear changes and Ducati Traction Control, Engine Brake control and race-level ABS, all designed to help stabilise the vehicle under extreme use and reduce lap-times.

The full range of Ducati motorcycles and accessories are available at the Ducati dealership in Dubai and the company’s all-new Abu Dhabi showroom, which was launched earlier this year as the world’s largest Ducati dealership. For more information on Ducati UAE, fans can head online to http://www.ducati.ae or the Ducati UAE facebook page.

  • Special touring-oriented Diavel Strada revealed.
  • Official 2013 plans released for MotoGP and World Superbike.

Rho (Milan), 12 November 2012 – Following the tradition of presenting its new motorcycles at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan, Ducati has now officially unveiled its complete 2013 range. The new and innovative models are a product of the genius and creativity of Ducati’s talented designers and engineers, and are set to capture the public’s attention at the EICMA 2012 event. The 77th edition of Milan’s International Motorcycle Show will pack the impressive Rho International Fair complex from 15-18 November.

The presentation of the 2013 Ducati range took place at the Milano-Rho Fair Auditorium and provided an opportunity for the CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, Gabriele Del Torchio, to address the capacity audience. During the Press Conference, he explained the international market situation and the business success achieved by the Bologna-based manufacturer during 2012. Despite the global market situation and economic difficulties, Ducati’s growth trend has continued, both in terms of market share and of production and sale volumes. This confirms the company’s secure position, underlined with the recent acquisition by the Audi Group, which subsequently further enhanced Ducati’s structure and organisation, enabling it to face the future with a positive and confident attitude.

“Since 2007, we have only seen “red” on the bodywork of our bikes,” said Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding during the press conference. “Ducati’s record turnover of 2011, looks set to increase 20% further by the close of 2012 with over 44,000 motorcycles registered. Our market share has also grown from 2.4% in 2006 to 5.2% in 2012, an equivalent of over 10% share in what we call the ‘Ducati Relevant Market’. Ducati has become even more global today, with approximately 9 motorcycles out of every 10 produced in our Borgo Panigale factory in Bologna destined for foreign markets. The USA is currently our top market, achieving a consistent two-figure growth, while other geographical areas, such as the Far East and Latin America where we are investing major resources and reaping promising results, are still yet to reach their full potential.

“With the arrival of the new shareholders, Ducati is in stronger hands than ever, and being part of the Audi Group will definitely contribute to Ducati’s growth and expansion. This acquisition acknowledges the value of everyone who works in our company, the value of the Ducati brand, and of its past achievements.

“EICMA is the best occasion to show our new models and I am particularly proud to present the new Hypermotard in addition to the rest our 2013 range. The excellence of our ’emotional appeal’, increasingly important in today’s competitive environment, is cleverly combined with our unmistakeable all-Italian style, and the advanced technology used in our new 2013 range confirms that Ducati is, and will continue to be, a product-oriented company with development and innovation representing the milestones of our growth strategy.”

The Ducati Press Conference for the launch of the 2013 model range also provided an ideal occasion to present Ducati’s official racing program for 2013. Four Ducati riders have already been confirmed in MotoGP with Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso for the factory Ducati Team and Ben Spies and Andrea Iannone for the satellite team. For World Superbike, the new Team Ducati Alstare was officially announced and, coordinated by the Belgian organisation managed by Francis Batta, will field Carlos Checa and Ayrton Badovini aboard the new 1199 Panigale.

The brand ambassador and guest of honour at the Conference was Daniele Molmenti, Gold Medallist at the London Olympic Games in the K1 Canoe Slalom and a passionate “Ducatista”. While on the podium in London earlier this year, the Olympic medal winner explained that he competes in a red canoe to underline his love for Ducati motorcycles. Molmenti greatly appreciated the chance to preview the 2013 models and was particularly interested in the new Superbike 1199 Panigale R, a masterpiece of applied technology and pure performance.

Claudio Domenicali, General Manager of Ducati Motor Holding, then took to the stage to explain the details and features of the 2013 Ducati models. He focused in particular on the long-awaited new generation Hypermotard family, and underlined the major, strategic role of the 1199 Panigale supersport model and its world debut with the prestigious R version.

“Here at EICMA 2012 we present one totally new model and a series of significantly updated models in line with our strategic plan,” Said General Manager, Claudio Domenicali at the Press Conference. “The Hypermotard is completely new. Technologically enhanced and presented in standard and SP versions, it has a brand new 4-valve per cylinder, liquid-cooled, Testastretta 11° engine, equipped also with our new secondary air system. The new motorcycle maintains the spirit of the original Ducati Hypermotard, but widens its accessibility with a larger fuel tank and revised ergonomics. We also present the Hyperstrada, a model equipped with a series of features that extend the motorcycle’s use into the world of touring, while maintaining the fun-to-ride character typical of a supermotard.

“With our passion for racing and sport bikes, we just had to produce an ‘R’ version of the 1199 Panigale. The ‘R’ title represents Ducati’s maximum expression of technology. In this case, connecting rods in titanium in addition to many other lightweight components and a race kit that represents a package ideal from which to develop the Superbike version, which will race next year. We have also decided to extend the Diavel range with the introduction of the Diavel Strada. Equipped with luggage, large screen and revised, more upright riding position, the Diavel is now ready also to entertain riders on longer rides outside the city.”

2013 Ducati Hypermotard family

As expected, the focus of attention at the presentation was on the new generation of the Hypermotard family. It takes the innovation and excitement of the original concept and enhances it even further with three incredible new models: The thrilling Hypermotard, Hypermotard SP and the introduction of a stylish and accessible mid-range tourer with everyday practicality – The Hyperstrada. The new range combines Ducati’s latest technologies with outstanding Italian design and engineering to write the latest chapter in the Hypermotard story. The Hypermotard and Hypermotard SP deliver a thrilling and fun filled experience, whether on the daily commute or ripping-up the track asphalt, while the Hyperstrada awaits long distance adventure, enabling practical, everyday motorcycling in absolute Ducati style.

Brand new from the ground up, the models introduce the new 110hp Ducati 821cc Testastretta 11° engine in a new Trellis frame equipped with top-of-the range chassis components. The Hypermotard and Hypermotard SP use sharp and sleek styling to maintain that essential Supermotard look, while the Hyperstrada is factory-accessorised with full touring-oriented specification. Combining these two worlds of performance with excellent ergonomics and the Ducati Safety Pack of latest generation 3-level ABS, 8-level Ducati Traction Control and integrated Riding Modes, the new models now gain a relevance that makes perfect sense in modern motorcycling. The new range takes the Hypermotard concept into the future with refined design and user-friendly technologies that will enhance its enjoyment to a wider range of riders.

Ducati Superbike 1199 Panigale R

The 2013 Ducati Superbike family line-up is now completed with the highly-anticipated arrival of the

1199 Panigale R, the absolute flagship of the range and the machine specially developed with enhanced technical specification by Ducati Corse for World Superbike homologation. The exciting “R” model stands alongside the 1199 Panigale and 1199 Panigale S in the new-for-2013 arctic white colour scheme and signature Ducati red, in addition to the exclusive 1199 Panigale S Tricolore.

The “R” takes everything that the “S” model is currently equipped with and applies a list of enhancements to the technical specification that enable the model to achieve even greater targets. Titanium con-rods, which save an overall 0.63kg (1.38lb), a 0.7kg (1.54lb) lighter crankshaft flywheel, DLC-coated rocker-arms and revised engine mapping now enhance the Superquadro engine’s crank acceleration and allow it to rev 500rpm higher to a 12,000rpm limit, an incredible engineering achievement for 112mm pistons.

The model also features a new 4-point adjustable swingarm pivot, designed to enable riders a personalised and precise set-up and a race kit consisting of high-penetration racing screen, fairing mirror caps in machined alloy and a full Termignoni exhaust system with dedicated ECU mapping (for track use only). The system provides an impressive power increase of 3% at the top of the rev-range and 15% in the mid-range. Additional enhancements to the machine include lightweight carbon fibre rear hugger, rear suspension guard, heels guards, ignition switch surround and top fairing inner panels and carbon fibre protectors for the single-sided swingarm and clutch cover. These lightweight chassis and engine components enable the “R” version a dry weight of just 165kg (363.7lb), even with an ABS braking system fitted as standard equipment. This top-of-the-range model is also fitted with a special race-style seat fabric for added “feel” and equipped with the GPS-enhanced Ducati Data Acquisition system, for automatic lap times and circuit map-linked data. The 1199 Panigale R is dressed in Ducati red with defining white race features, sporting a mix of red and brushed aluminium on the fuel tank with lightweight forged wheels by Marchesini in black.

2013 Ducati Diavel Strada

A surprise entry for the Diavel family comes in the form of the new Diavel Strada. The sophisticated new model, specifically designed for longer journeys, has been factory-accessorised with touring-friendly components that enable all-day riding comfort for both rider and passenger.

Further enhanced with touring comfort and functionality, the carefully designed screen blends effortlessly into the Diavel’s sleek lines to provide improved wind protection, and the rider’s posture is further improved for long-distance with higher handlebars swept back towards the rider and larger, comfort-enhancing seats with revised foam cushioning. The addition of heated grips further underlines the attention given to rider-friendly detail and the higher-output generator that powers them also provides for two handy auxiliary power outlets intended for heated clothing or navigation accessories.

The passenger’s ride has also been improved with a ride-relaxing back-rest and confidence-inspiring grab-rails. The Diavel’s desire for touring practicality has been elegantly satisfied with stylishly shaped side luggage, fitted as standard equipment with revised passenger footpegs and rear lighting. The Diavel Strada arrives in an elegant race titanium colour scheme with racing black frame and black wheels and side luggage.

In addition to their 2013 models, Ducati also took the occassion of the EICMA International Motorcycle Show to present its brand new Accessories and Apparel collections. The show will open to the public 15-18 November with the Ducati stand is situated at G-64 in hall 18.

Ducati present 1199RS13 Superbike and start to reveal 2013 models at Cologne’s Intermot show

Ducati has started to reveal its 2013 range at the Intermot International Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany, displaying new colours in the Diavel and Superbike families and, as the famous naked icon now celebrates 20 years of production, special Anniversary versions of the Monster 696, 796 and 1100EVO. The recently released 2013 Ducati Multistrada 1200 also made its first-ever public appearance, as did the brand new 1199 Panigale RS13, which is now ready to make its debut in the World Superbike series next year. Company CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio, and General Manager, Claudio Domenicali addressed the world’s motorcycle press during a special conference held on the Italian manufacturer’s stand at the massive biennial event.

“Ducati has entered a new era,” said Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO of Ducati. “Being part of such a prominent and significant group as Volkswagen makes us look to the future with confidence and optimism and we are very happy to be here at Intermot with so many new products to present. Despite today’s severely shrinking market, Ducati continues to show positive growth, and since 2007 has consistently increased its market share and further strengthened its financial position. 2011 was a record year in the history of Ducati and we expect to continue our growth in 2012. Our 2013 motorcycles, such as the new Multistrada 1200, demonstrate the consistency of our development strategies and today I am especially proud to present our new Monster Anniversary, a celebration of the glorious history of this iconic model in the Ducati family.”

“Twenty years have passed since the presentation of our first Ducati Monster, right here at Intermot,” said Claudio Domenicali, General Manager of Ducati Motor Holding, during the press conference. “This model redefined the parameters of the naked segment and our new Monster Anniversary is dressed in the original livery of that very first version and applied to the whole range of latest-generation Monsters. In addition to the Monster Anniversary, we have brought a number of interesting new products to Cologne. Our new Multistrada 1200 is an evolution of the 4-bikes-in-1 concept and now becomes even more versatile with the introduction of the revolutionary Ducati Skyhook Suspension system. The model also presents a new and improved Testastretta 11° DS engine, with enhanced power delivery and smoother operation, and a re-styled front-end with new LED lighting. We are also presenting brand new colour schemes for the Diavel and the Superbike 848 and 1199 Panigale and Ducatisti here in Cologne have the first chance to see the RS13 version of the 1199 Panigale, now available for teams to prepare their fight for the 2013 Superbike World Championship.”

First introduced in Cologne in 1992, the Monster family now reaches a milestone 20 years of production and Ducati celebrates the iconic naked with special 20th Anniversary editions of its latest 696, 796 and 1100EVO models. Standing proudly alongside the exclusive Monster Diesel, this bold range of lifestyle motorcycles are dressed in special liveries, revised colour finishes and character-forming features.

The innovative Ducati Diavel, which has become one of Ducati’s most desired models, rolls into 2013 with an exciting line-up that sees the flagship Diavel Carbon now exclusively in carbon red and the standard Diavel in three stunning new colour versions. The Diavel Dark in matte black with black-finished components and two “street-sport” schemes that introduce metallic blue or Ducati red with stylish white stripes, white wheels and special defining features.

The 2013 Ducati Superbike family introduces arctic white versions of the exciting 1199 Panigale and 1199 Panigale S alongside the signature Ducati red, while the 1199 Panigale S Tricolore continues proudly as the flagship of the family. The highly successful 848EVO is available in the traditional colours of Ducati red* and dark stealth*, while the exclusive 848EVO Corse Special Edition, with a new-for-2013, lightweight, aluminium fuel tank, gets dressed in the stunning new Ducati Corse Test Team livery of matte black and matte grey.

The 2013 Ducati Multistrada family has its first public showing at Intermot and presents an innovative and technically advanced evolution of an already successful range. Restyled aesthetics, a brand new Granturismo model and the new Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) system, which provides confidence-inspiring, intelligent electronics, are just a few of the many enhancements that continue the Multistrada’s excellent reputation.

Ducati’s highly anticipated 1199 Panigale RS13 also breaks cover for the first time at Intermot. The spectacular Ducati Corse prepared machine previews the full race version of the company’s top-of-the range sportbike model, now ready and available for teams to prepare for competition in the 2013 World Superbike series.

Ducati announces agreement with Ben Spies and Andrea Iannone for 2013 MotoGP World Championship

Ducati announces that it has signed an agreement with American Ben Spies and Italian Andrea Iannone to compete in the 2013 MotoGP World Championship.

Having already confirmed Nicky Hayden and announced Andrea Dovizioso for the Ducati Team, the Italian manufacturer now reaffirms its confidence in and commitment to the MotoGP World Championship, finalizing its lineup for next season with two riders who are fast and competitive, already protagonists in the MotoGP and Moto2 World Championships.

At the same time, the partnership has been renewed between Ducati and Pramac Racing, which will continue to be entrusted with management of the satellite team. The two riders, who have a direct link with the company, will be supplied with official equipment.

This agreement will enable additional important support in the development of the Desmosedici MotoGP project, offering a further opportunity in the process of improving the performance of the Italian bike.

Ducati Abu Dhabi

  • New home for Ducatisti in the capital opened by legendary racer, Troy Bayliss
  • His Excellency Abdulla Al Masaood highlights impressive development of Abu Dhabi in encouraging Ducati to open one of its biggest showrooms in the capital

The Middle East motorcycle scene now boasts a major new landmark, with today’s (Saturday, 8 September) opening of the one of the world’s biggest Ducati dealerships in Abu Dhabi. Legendary motorcycle rider, Troy Bayliss joined VIPs and fans of the renowned Italian brand at the launch event for Ducati UAE’s flagship store, which showcases a full range of bikes and accessories.

Along with Bayliss, a three-time World Superbike Champion, the official opening was hosted by Roberto Righi, Global Sales Director of Ducati, and Khalifa Al Masaood, Executive Director of Revolution Accessories LLC, part of Abdulla Al Masaood & Sons (AMS) Group, and was attended by His Excellency Abdulla Al Masaood & Sons, Chairman of AMS Group. The opening of the Abu Dhabi dealership follows the 2010 launch of the brand’s first dedicated UAE showroom in Dubai.

His Excellency Abdulla Al Masaood said: “I am pleased to be present at the launch of such a unique showroom, one that has already been praised for being one of the Italian brand’s most stylish. Abu Dhabi is currently witnessing remarkable growth and has earned itself a reputation as a city with a prominent position on the world stage. This development helped drive us to open such an impressive and important facility in the capital.”

“The opening of this impressive new facility will make it even easier for aficionados of high performance bikes in Abu Dhabi to own a Ducati,” said Khalifa Al Masaood. “There is significant demand in the Emirates for Ducati motorcycles. In Dubai we have already experienced a 50% year on year increase in sales compared to 2011, and we are confident that there will be similar strong demand from customers in the capital.”

Ducati’s new flagship dealership offers over 1,300 sqm of floor space dedicated to the iconic Italian motorbike brand. Located in Mussafah, at the entrance to Abu Dhabi island, the facility incorporates a dedicated showroom area, a fully equipped workshop with a ‘ride-in reception’, parts and accessories area and a cutting-edge ‘Dynojet’ testing room, which allows riders to check the performance of their machine. There is also a secure, air conditioned indoor holding area, where owners can store their bikes and gear in safety when not using them.

The showroom features a full line-up of high performance Ducati motorcycles, including Diavel, Monster, Multistrada and Streetfighter models. The Superbike range includes the 1199 Panigale model, which enjoyed its global launch in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Circuit earlier this year. Alongside the stars of the showroom, Ducati riders and enthusiasts will also find a huge range of accessories and stylish branded clothing for men, women and children.

“This opening demonstrates both Ducati’s and Revolution Accessories’ commitment to admirers and owners of the brand here in the UAE, a country that we value very highly and in which the excellent work of our business partner has achieved outstanding and higher-than-expected results,” said Righi. “We sincerely appreciate their energy and professionalism and will continue to match that with thrilling motorcycles of authentic Italian performance and exciting brand initiatives. The opening of this new flagship store – the biggest in the region – now further enhances an excellent customer experience, while providing a healthy platform for continued growth.”

Founded in 1926, Ducati motorcycles are the purest expression of refined engineering, unmistakable design and, above all, passion for bikes. Over the years the Ducati brand has been extremely successful in international racing, winning one MotoGP title, 14 World Superbike titles, eight British Superbike titles and two AMA titles.

A record-breaking 65,000 enthusiastic visitors celebrated at WDW2012

Friday night’s track activity at World Ducati Week 2012 in Misano, Italy saw the incredible Drag Race by Tudor thrill the crowd as Ducati riders from the GP and World Superbike Championships battled onboard Ducati Diavels. The massive event, which will run from 21-24 June, has broken attendance records everyday so far and looks ready to beat the previous 60,000 fans by the close of the fourth and final day tomorrow.

Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Troy Bayliss, Carlos Checa, Jakub Smrz, Sylvain Guintoli, Niccolò Canepa and Lorenzo Zanetti all took the opportunity for some friendly, but fierce competition on a drag-strip along the Misano start straight. The early elimination stages of the competition saw Ducatisti favourites Valentino Rossi and Troy Bayliss go through to the exclusive final show-down in front of a huge WDW crowd. Bayliss got the best launch from his Diavel and tripped the timing lights at 6.306 seconds to win the magnificent Drag Race by Tudor. Rossi’s time of 6.329 put him in second with Hayden third and Checa fourth.

Since Thursday, record numbers of motorcyclists have ridden into World Ducati Week 2012 and have been entertained by a packed programme of exciting events. Tonight’s incredible Drag Race by Tudor is sure to go down in WDW history as one of the most exciting and close-fought yet with a spectacular show of burn-outs and wheelies afterwards.

Immediately after the Drag Race, the procession of tens of thousands of Ducatisti started to the centre of nearby Riccione for the unique party performance to be delivered from a stage set-up in Piazzale Roma from where the Ducati riders will be presented and the famous “Ducati All Stars” band perform. Featuring Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) Duff Mckagan (Guns N’ Roses) Franky Perez (Pusher Jones) Steve Stevens (Billy Idol band), Billy Morrison (The Cult) and Isaac Carpenter (Loaded), the band is sure to be a big hit for the partying WDW-goers.

With the grand finale on Sunday, 24 June, even more motorcyclists are expected to join the thousands that have already arrived from every region of the world, underlining the unmistakable red passion, shared by Ducatisti.

Ducati President announces record sales figures

During a press conference held at the World Ducati Week 2012, the President of Ducati Motor Holding, Gabriele Del Torchio, has highlighted Ducati’s constant growth and record-breaking sales (+12%) and revenues (+20% YTD) achieved by Ducati in May 2012.

Ducati’s massive gathering of passionate fans and owners from all over the world – World Ducati Week, running from 21-24 June at the Misano World Circuit in Misano Adriatico – provided Gabriele Del Torchio an ideal platform from which to deliver the latest figures from Ducati’s international market and the excellent sales results that the Bologna-based premium motorcycle manufacturer achieved during the opening months of 2012. Despite a difficult market and a slowing global economy, Ducati continues to grow and improve in terms of market share, output volumes and sales, clearly highlighting the security of a company that is now well structured, strategically organised and ready to move into the future with a change of ownership.

“This is my third WDW and a key moment for everyone who works at Ducati,” said Mr. Del Torchio at the Press Conference. “Through this event, we have the opportunity to share our passion and pride in being part of a prestigious, long-standing brand such as Ducati with the thousands of Ducatisti who have ridden to the Riviera Romagnola from all over the world. We are on the brink of a new era, one that the company begins in the knowledge that all the goals set together with Investindustrial have been achieved brilliantly.

“Since 2006 we have doubled our market share and sales and there has also been a net improvement in our financial position. Today, Ducati is a rock-solid company that has aroused the interest of Europe’s largest car maker with whom we’re now ready to begin a new and equally exciting adventure.

“The hard work done by everyone at Ducati has paid off and the results confirm the soundness of the strategies implemented from 2006-2011. Thanks to policies focussed on product development, ever-higher investment levels, careful marketing aimed at making the Ducati brand ever-more admired and respected worldwide and the development of emerging markets, Ducati saw revenues grow from €305 million in 2006 to €480 million in 2011 while EBITDA rose from €27 million in 2006 to €94 million in 2011. The number of employees has also increased, from 1043 in 2006 to 1193, the number working at Ducati today.

“Over these years we have developed the most exciting and innovative product range in our long history, launching no less than 17 new models. These include the Multistrada 1200 in 2010, the Diavel in 2011 and the most recent, the 1199 Panigale. These successes contributed enormously to the increase in sales, which rose significantly from 35,300 bikes in 2006 to 42,200 at the end of 2011.

“Despite the shrinking international market (over-500cc = -4% YTD) and after 2011 proved to be the best in Ducati’s history, we understandably felt optimistic going into 2012, which promises equally significant levels of satisfaction and achievement. In fact, during May 2012 we achieved an absolute record with motorcycle sales of over 6,500, a 12% growth compared to May 2011. In the US market, sales increased 48% and on Asian markets a staggering 238%. Positive signs have also been seen in Europe, where in France, for example, sales increased by 13%. Altogether, Ducati saw sales increase by 12% but, even more significantly, revenues increased by 20% (May YTD), highlighting both the increased volumes and the improved product mix. These are achievements that we want to share with our community, with our public, with the Ducatisti who have come here to Misano from all over the world for the seventh edition of World Ducati Week.

“Sadly, we will all be aware of the devastation caused by the recent earthquake on the Po Valley plain north of Bologna and its impact in terms of extensive material damage and loss of life. The people, institutions and businesses of Emilia are fighting back bravely, demonstrating admirable strength of spirit and social solidarity. Nevertheless, despite everyone’s best efforts, some slowing of output will be inevitable. Yet thanks also to results such as these, we can look to the future with the strength and optimism that are vital to achieving even greater growth.”

Destination “Red Planet” – The long road to WDW2012

Ducatisti from over 27 countries are arriving at Ducati’s massive gathering and invading the Riviera Romagnola on Italy’s Adriatic coast, including several Super-Ducatisti who have covered incredible distances to ride through the WDW2012 welcome arch.

Sundeep Gajjar made his big entrance to World Ducati Week 2012 in Misano, Italy today after a mammoth 10,000km (6200 mile) journey aboard his Multistrada 1200 S Touring, originally planned from India through Pakistan, but later forced to re-route from Turkey to Italy via Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia and Austria.

Arriving to a WDW2012 hero’s welcome, the 32-year-old Indian’s incredible adventure was to have started in Mumbai, India, until political uncertainties had soon undermined Sundeep’s confidence of a secure passage into Pakistan. His typical never-give-up approach to Mission Red Planet – so called after Ducati’s massive WDW event – then led him to collect a black Ducati Multistrada motorcycle from the UAE Ducati Importer in Dubai with the intention of continuing his journey through Iran. But this solution also failed when Iranian officials observed that the details in the motorcycle’s Carnet De Passage were insufficient to guarantee a problem-free exit from the country. Several phone calls later and a flight to Ducati in Turkey and the mission was back on-track with a bright red Multistrada 1200.

Sundeep Gajjar describes himself as a Motographer, a passionate rider of motorcycles and journalistic photographer. He is also an intrepid adventurer and passionate Ducatista and his latest adventure, Mission Red Planet, is an incredible road trip from Dubai to World Ducati Week 2012 in Misano, Italy for the famous Italian motorcycle manufacturer’s massive gathering of passionate owners.

“It’s an amazing experience and feeling to travel thousands of miles and make a motorcycle literally your cupboard and home for 35 days,” said Sundeep Gajjar. “Riding through many different countries, cultures, landscapes and weather taught me a lot more about the world. I was privileged and humbled to see sunsets over the waters of Gallipoli in Turkey where so many battles were fought, to ride some of the world’s best roads like Transfagarasan in Romania, Grossglockner in Austria and Stelvio in Italy, to interact with people from different cultures by just using hand gestures and discovering alien landscapes like one in Cappadochia, Turkey. It has been a stupendous 35 days to reach the mecca of Superbiking – World Ducati Week 2012!”

During his mega road-trip, Sundeep rode through temperatures ranging from 47° C in Abu Dhabi to 6° C in Slovakia. He took over 6000 photos along the way and what he describes as enough video for a short documentary. He rode from the desert to the snow-surrounded roads that took him and his Ducati through more than twenty high altitude mountain passes.

Another very special Ducatista is Paolo Pirozzi, president of the Naples Ducati Dreams Club. Here at WDW2012, he has realised the dream of having clocked up 500,000km on his Ducati motorcycles, which all have female names! His ambitious goal was achieved as he passed through the gates of World Ducati Week and celebrated together with the global Ducati community there. Paolo, a man who has ridden Ducatis all over the planet, is a living legend for Ducati fans everywhere, the very symbol of the “Ducati passion” shared by the thousands of enthusiasts descending on Misano for the seventh edition of WDW.

Paolo has already completed a World Tour on Lidia, his Multistrada 1200, passing through no less than 43 countries and totalling a staggering 100,000km. Lidia is just one of four Ducatis that mean a great deal to Pirozzi, motorcycles that have accompanied him on incredible journeys. Together with a Multistrada 620 called Jessica, he covered the 34,000km in just two months from Paris to Beijing. During that journey, in September 2007, Paolo Pirozzi became the first man to cross the Gobi desert on a standard factory motorcycle. On Nenna, his Monster 900s, Paolo headed off to discover 22 countries, covering a massive 100,000km and last but not least, on Reginella, his Ducati 998R, he notched up an amazing 7000km at the Mugello race circuit. At World Ducati Week 2012 some of these motorcycles are on display at a special Pirozzi-dedicated stand.

The crowded Misano paddock of WDW2012 has plenty of similar stories to tell, like Walter Ponteri, a Milan-born motorcyclist who has so far ridden his year 2000 Monster 900 over 124,00km. For him, every new edition of WDW offers a great opportunity to celebrate the achievement of eating up thousands more kilometres on his Ducati.

With the love of such touring adventures in mind, WDW2012 Tour, which is sponsored by the Republic of San Marino’s Secretary of State for Tourism and Sport, provides WDW-goers with the thrill of a shorter-range ride lasting just a few hours, thanks to a series of routes available to those attending the great event. Four tours, each designed to let the rider discover some of the most beautiful roads in the Romagna, are titled Terra dei Motori, Tour Happy Hour Viamaggio, Tour Happy Hour San Marino and Tour Multistrada.

Last minute visitors can purchase WDW2012 tickets at the Misano Circuit ticket office upon arrival.

Thousands of fans from all over the world ride into first day of WDW2012

Ducati’s massive World Ducati Week 2012 got under way today with thousands of riders from all over the world arriving at the Italian manufacturer’s mega-event at the Misano World Circuit in Misano Adriatico. With advance ticket sales alone standing at over 18,000, the event, which will run from 21-24 June, looks likely to set a new opening day attendance record. Huge numbers of passionate followers rode in as soon as the gates of the Misano Circuit opened, tripping the counter to record over 30% more visitors than the 2010 edition.

The huge programme of activities for WDW2012 at Misano 21-24 June – titled “Planet of the Champions” – will revolve around five theme-based areas that are set to create a memorable event for the thousands of Ducati enthusiasts flocking to the Adriatic Riviera from around the world.

“Galaxy of Adrenalin”

This very important area of the WDW2012 paddock will host the current Ducati racing teams and provide a unique opportunity to meet and talk to members of all the teams together in one paddock. Riders, mechanics and engineers from the Ducati Team in MotoGP, the Ducati Corse Superbike development team, and all the private teams currently competing in the 2012 World Superbike series will be present including the reigning World Champions, Team Althea Racing in addition to Team Liberty Effenbert Racing, Team Pata Racing, and Team Red Devils Roma.

Top riders will constantly be in the paddock or on the circuit carrying out their own test sessions, taking time-out to meet with Ducatisti. In a unique pit-lane packed with riders from both GP and Superbike there will be endless opportunities for autographs, photos and meeting team personnel.

Providing a “show within a show”, this year’s Ducati Desmo Challenge series has been organised as a spectacular, international, single-round challenge staged in front of the huge WDW crowd. Spread over three days, with practice sessions on Friday and qualifying on Saturday, the two Ducati categories of “Open” and “848 Superstock” will race on Sunday with a “Race 1” and “Race 2″ format just like Superbike.

This adrenalin-packed area of the paddock will also be home to the famous Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) courses which, for WDW2012, will take place on Thursday, 21 June with a special edition of the “Master Racing” course, in which highly qualified instructors and ex-champions share their outstanding technical and riding skills. The special DRE programme also includes 3-times World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss, who will hold a round of his celebrated riding Academy, with all Master Racing and Troy Bayliss Academy students riding the new 1199 Panigale S.

The circuit will also provide the venue for an additional two key WDW initiatives. The first is a series of free practice sessions open to all 4-day motorcycle pass holders to experience the excitement of the Misano circuit. The second is for experience-appropriate pass holders to take a test ride on Ducati’s latest Superbike, the futuristic 1199 Panigale. Starting from 10 May, an online booking process for both activities will be available at wdw.ducati.com.

With an incredible display by the “Dabut” freestylers, a minimotard track for pre-booked practice sessions and a thrilling minimotard race with top pro-riders completing the area’s activities, Ducati’s Galaxy of Adrenaline is sure to be a massive attraction for thrill-seekers.

“International Village”

WDW will offer all visitors from around the world, the opportunity to meet-up and enjoy their passion for Ducati motorcycles, with an International Village providing hospitality for both home Italian and international Ducatisti. With everyone getting the chance to party in their own country-specific tradition, the Village really underlines the community atmosphere of WDW and how motorcycling is able to combine multiple cultures with a single passion.

“Discovery Galaxy”

Inside the huge Misano World Circuit paddock, visitors can also make contact with Ducati Owners Clubs (DOC) attending WDW from all around the globe. The President of one such club, Paolo Pirozzi of the Naples Ducati Club, will be the focus of the World Tour Celebration, a party celebrating his achievements aboard the Multistrada 1200 Touring. Alongside him will be another epic motorcycle traveller, Indian journalist, Sundeep Gajjar, who will participate in the Ducati Touring festivities by reporting on his own WDW adventure of riding the Multistrada 1200 from Dubai to Misano on a long and thrilling journey.

This area will also have an info point for all those who booked the WDW Tour, a series of exciting motorcycling itineraries offered for WDW participants to discover the beauty of the Adriatic Riviera and the Romagna region. All 4-day pass holders can sign-up for one or more half–day or full-day tours, designed by experts from Curve e Tornanti in collaboration with the Republic of San Marino. Monster Art also provides the inspiration for other attractions in the area such as body painting and airbrushing and opportunities to further personalise helmets and bike accessories. Ducati passion at WDW2012 will be further enhanced by professional tattoo artists who will be providing the ink for Ducati lovers to record a unique memento of their WDW exerience.

The Ducati Garage Contest provides the creative challenge for all those with a passion for personalisation and the competition will announce the most original twin-cylinder Ducati winner at WDW2012. To take part in the Ducati Garage Contest 2012, potential participants must simply send a photo together with info sheet to articles@ducati.com no later than 28 May 2012. The two categories are “Special Ducati”, for all Ducati models from any year, and “Diavel” which focuses on the creative talents of those owning this innovative and ground-breaking model. 14 final “works of art”, consisting of ten Specials and four Diavels, will be chosen by Ducati to be on exhibition at WDW, where the public will have the final vote to award the coveted prizes for both the best special and the best Diavel (further information at wdw.ducati.com).

WDW2012 will also bring together those Ducatisti who have made music a key part of their lives, not just bikes! All Ducati owners can download info from wdw.ducati.com, send their application together with a photo of the band and a demo for the chance to be selected to perform live on stage at Misano in front of a crowd of thousands. And last, but by no means least for the Bike Art Galaxy area, are the beautiful girls of the traditional Bike Wash Show who will be in attendance for all four days to give owners a whole new reason to get their bike cleaned on arrival!

“Heritage Galaxy”

With 2012 being such an important anniversary year for Ducati, there had to be an exhibition dedicated to the models that have made the Bologna-built motorcycles so famous. Bologna, 22 March 2012 – Two highly-anticipated images of the “naked” 1199 Panigale have been released, illustrating Ducati’s innovative and courageous step forward in motorcycle design. Merging multiple parts into one compact and lightweight component, the extremely compact monocoque construction also integrates the airbox to become one of the key elements in reducing the new Superbike’s overall dry weight by an incredible 10kg (22lb) to a benchmark 164kg (361.5lb).

Using the Superquadro engine as a stressed member of the chassis, the short and strong aluminium monocoque is made in die-cast aluminium and is responsible for 5kg (11lb) of the overall weight saving of the new design. The monocoque attaches to the cylinder heads of the new specially designed engine, protruding forward to house the steering head bearings and forming the airbox along the way, which is capped-off and sealed when the lightweight aluminium fuel tank is attached, again using one component to the fulfil the roles of two.

While the cylinders remain true to Ducati’s signature 90° L-twin configuration, the new engine has rotated the top-end backwards around the crankshaft a further 6° to give more clearance on the front wheel and enable engineers to modify the front and rear weight bias. This also enables a front-end geometry of 24.5° of rake and 100mm (3.94in) of trail. Attaching directly to the rear of the engine, the new fully die-cast aluminium, single-sided swingarm is 39mm longer than the 1198, contributing to the increased the wheelbase of 1,437mm (56.6in) and weight distribution of the 1199 Panigale from 50/50 to 52% front and 48% rear with average-size rider onboard.

With the exhaust system now relocated below the engine, the die-cast aluminium rear sub-frame is considerably lighter and also attaches directly to the Superquadro engine, while the super lightweight, magnesium front sub-frame attaches directly to the monocoque frame, providing secure support for the headlamp, instrumentation and fairing. This combination of weight saving and centralisation of mass around these high front and rear sub-frame areas substantially contributes to overall vehicle agility.

New York, USA, 15 March 2012 – Introducing an exciting new phase in the partnership, which started in 2011 with the sponsorship of the Ducati Team in MotoGP, Ducati and Diesel now launch the Monster Diesel with a dedicated Capsule Collection. The brand new customised model is an ‘urban military chic’ interpretation of Ducati’s iconic naked motorcycle and will be unveiled alongside the new collection at the Diesel stores of New York-Soho (15 March) Rome (22 March) and Tokyo-Shibuya (29 March).

“The Monster Diesel, and the collection dedicated to it, reflect the “coolness” of this iconic motorcycle and our brand in general,” said Gabriele Del Torchio, President of Ducati Motor Holding. “The collaboration with Diesel, underlines our focus on the style and trends that shape the market and I am delighted to associate our world with that of fashion and, in particular, with Diesel. Both brands globally represent technology and innovation in pure Italian style.”

Stefano Rosso, Project Leader and son of Diesel founder, added: “When we had the opportunity to work with Ducati, with last year’s MotoGP sponsorship, we discovered a whole world of shared values and common roots. That brought us the desire to create something new together, and we made it in the only way we know: taking the great know-how of both companies and mixing it with passion and creativity. The results are unique products, characterised by a great mix of design and technology.”

The collaboration is celebrated with a Capsule Collection reflecting the brands’ DNA and common roots of creativity and innovation, the key elements that enabled the two companies to become renowned icons of the “Made in Italy” tradition.

With Ducati’s flagship Monster 1100EVO providing the canvas for the new motorcycle creation, Diesel’s founder Renzo Rosso and the Ducati Design Centre guided stylists to a military inspired theme, expressing the core values of the partnership and realising an avant garde choice for connoisseurs of lifestyle motorcycling.

Set against the black treatment of Ducati’s Trellis frame, wheels, engine covers, exhaust system and forks, the exclusive ‘Diesel Brave Green matte’ livery delivers a rugged military vehicle feel, while front brake callipers are finished in shocking yellow to make a strong reminder of the model’s performance heritage.

The dual-branded collection is dedicated to addicts of life in the fast lane and devoted enthusiasts of these two great Italian brands. Composed of eleven different styles, the range includes essential slim-fitting biker jackets, sweats, tees, a unique five pocket in raw denim and a set of accessories.

All pieces are characterised by pure biker attitude, clean technical details and bold Diesel graphics, such as the treated rubber prints recalling the burnt rubber of the motorcycle’s tyres. Colours for the collection are black, grey, white with pop up red inspired by logos from both brands, while the range of fabrics goes from treated nylon and cotton to denim and overdyed jersey mix with leather and metal applications.

Inspired by the technical wear and perfectly combining design with a strong biker style, the new collection is identified by a brave and irreverent touch, and will be available starting from mid-April in the Diesel Stores, the Diesel online store and a selection of the best Ducati dealers.

The Monster Diesel will be available at Ducati stores around the world from late July onwards. More information is available at Ducati.com from where the desire to own can be relayed direct to local dealers.

The long-awaited arrival on The Planet of the Champions will be celebrated with music, fireworks and more, while the evening event of Friday, 22 June will see the town of Cattolica painted red with Ducati passion. Saturday evening’s perfect destination for great nightlife is the seafront at Riccione, which will host an evening of entertainment with special guests Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden.

Vital to the success of such a mega-event are important partnerships such as Mercedes-AMG, with whom Ducati established strong ties during WDW2010 as event sponsor. It was from that event that the two brands entered a number of co-branded initiatives, from visibility in official Ducati Team in MotoGP and becoming the Official Car Partner of the Ducati Team to the production of the exclusive Diavel-AMG Special Edition.

Effenbert Beer (also available in non-alcoholic) take on a supporting role as event-partner. As the “title sponsor” of World Superbike’s Team Effenbert Liberty Racing, they will attend with their Ducati-powered official riders of Jakub Smrz, Sylvain Guintoli and Maxime Berger, as well as Superstock duo, Federico Sandi and Brett McCormick.

Entering WDW2012 as event-partners are Tudor, the high-end Swiss sports watch maker, who already collaborate closely with Ducati as Official Timing Partners and with the creation of the Fastrider series of watches that combine Tudor’s cutting-edge technical characteristics with unique Ducati features.

Ducati confirm their 2012 Streetfighter 848 with the first officially released images of the brand new model set to add everyday accessibility to the Italian manufacturer’s famous naked sport bike family.

Combining a new and brilliantly engineered 848 Testastretta 11° engine with the enhanced geometry of a chassis that provides confidence-inspiring agility, the Streetfighter 848 has enriched its user-friendliness with a smooth and flexible power delivery, revised ergonomics and Ducati Traction Control.

The Ducati Streetfighter scored a round one knock-out when it entered the ring for the first time at the Milan show back in November 2008, winning the ‘Most Beautiful Bike’ award and raising the bar for extreme nakeds. Its asphalt-ripping reputation became the desire of sport naked connoisseurs throughout the world and the Streetfighter 848 will now widen that appeal even further with enhanced usability.

We are expecting it available in the UAE from December 2011, the new fighter is dressed in red for Ducati traditionalists, while yellow makes a return for mid-range purists and “dark stealth” provides a matte-black reminder of the Streetfighter’s aggressive image.

Revolution Accessories Est. trading as Ducati UAE will be presenting the latest 2011 models of the Bologna based factory.
